Claussen and Tate Going Pro

In a not so shocking announcement both Jimmy Clausen and Golden Tate announced today that they are leaving Notre Dame and going pro. Clausen played well this year and at times was considered a Heisman candidate. With Clausen coming out it makes this years group of qbs in the draft a very good one. Clausen is probably the most ready for the NFL coming from a pro offense. You add in the spotlight of Notre Dame and Clausen maybe the most polished of the group. I expect him to be a top 10 pick this year especially with the teams that are looking for a qb. Look for the Redskins, Bills, Browns, Panthers, Rams, Raiders, Seahawks, and 49ers to express interests in Clausen.

Tate on the other hand had a great year. He really developed his skills this year and emerged onto the scene. Tate is a good quick player. Some may question his size in the NFL at 5'11. Being in Weiss's offense that should help Tate and with the recent success of Eddie Royal and other smaller receivers I think Tate will be a nice slot receiver in the NFL. I look for Tate at this point to be a 2nd or 3rd round pick. With combine and pro days and all he may move up but at this point a 2nd or 3rd rounder.
