Marshall to Dolphins

The wheeling and dealing continues in the NFL. Yesterday Brandon Marshall was traded from the Denver Broncos to the Miami Dolphins for a 2nd round pick this year and one in 2011. The Dolphins have been waiting for a big time receiver for years and after seeing the Jets get Santonio Holmes, Dolphin fans were livid that they did not do anything. Bill Parcells heard their cries and a day later got an elite receiver.

Marshall is a great receiver but comes with much baggage. Unlike Santonio Holmes who seems to have trouble off the field Marshall brings his distractions to his team. He was suspended numerous times last year by coach Josh McDaniels for conduct detrimental to the team. His act played out in Denver and they got the best deal they could for him. Marshall should behave in his first year with a new team but if he gets upset I would not be surprised to see him revert back to the way he was. Head Coach Tony Sparano is a no nonsense type of coach and will have no problem disciplining Marshall if he were to step out of line. I have two fears with Marshall going to the Dolphins. My fears are if he does get upset how will a developing qb like Chad Henne deal with him and is their a veteran structure in place in Miami that can put Marshall in his place if he does step out of line? All this will be told over time but this is a win win trade for both sides.
